2022 JR Blues Learn to Play for 9 to 15 Years Old (WL#08a)

2022 JR. Blues Learn to Play
for 9 to 15 year olds

The JR. Blues Learn to Play program is a 12 week program that is designed to introduce first time players, ages 9-15, to the great game of Ice Hockey.  Throughout the 12 weeks, participants will learn the fundamentals of hockey along with players that are at a similar skill level.  One week is dedicated to classroom work.

The program will begin on April 23, 2022 and will conclude on July 17th.  There will be no ice practice on June 18 but we will have a classroom session.  The program is held at the Webster Grove Ice Rink,

In order to participate in this program, each player must wear full equipment during each of the practices.  The equipment they should have is:

  • Certified Ice Hockey Helmet with full face mask
  • Shoulder pads
  • Neck guard
  • Elbow pads
  • Hockey pants
  • Shin/Knee pads
  • Mouthguard
  • Stick (Ice hockey – not street hockey)
  • Hockey gloves
  • Supporter and cup (or pelvic protector for females)
  • Hockey skates
  • Hockey Socks
  • Jersey(will be supplied by the program)

If your child doesn’t have all of this equipment, it will need to be purchased before the first practice.  We suggest purchasing used equipment at Play It Again Sports in Arnold.

Winterland will also be holding a special meeting for the participant's families so they can get a chance to ask questions and gain information regarding joining local youth hockey organization for the upcoming winter season.
