2017 JR Blues Learn to Play Program

2017 JR Blues Learn to Play

The JR Blues program is a 8 week program that is designed to introduce first time players, ages 9-15, to the sport of hockey.  Registrants will be separated into two groups of up to 36 players.  Throughout the eight weeks, participants will learn the fundamentals of hockey along with players that are at a similar skill level.

The program will begin on April 29, 2017 and will conclude on July 8th.  There will be no practices on the dates of May 27th, June 17th,  or July 1st.  In order to participate in this program, each player must wear full equipment during each of the practices.  This equipment includes:

  • Helmet
  • Gloves
  • Shoulder pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Pants
  • Shin Guards
  • Socks
  • Skates
  • Stick

If your child doesn’t have all of this equipment, it will need to be purchased before the first practice.  Our equipment partner, Total Hockey, has an exclusive offer for players participating in the JR Blues program.  Each player that schedules an equipment fitting at the Kirkwood Total Hockey Location,  will receive a special discount from 10% to 30% off of their equipment purchase with proof of registration.

Each Participant of the JR Blues program will be required to have a USA Hockey membership.  Before completing JR Blues registration form, please purchase a USA Hockey membership at USA Hockey Registration.
